Salzburger Sportwelt Bus

The Sportwelt bus in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee takes you easily to the starting points of your hikes and mountain tours in the towns of the Salzburger Sportwelt and Obertauern (except St. Johann im Pongau).
The hiking bus stop is at the Therme Amadé (about 500 m from our dasUrbisgut).
With the Salzburger Sportwelt- or Magic Mountains Card one way only costs € 1,-

„Kaiserschmarrn Tour“
walking time: ca. 1 hour
Description: Classic hike to Winterbauer (1,080 m). Southwest of Urbisgut via Schlatterberg or road on a hill with a good view.
Walk to Reitdorf to the Horner snack station
walking time: ca. 1 hour
Description: West of Urbisgut towards Reitdorf to Horner. Return via Eben bathing lake, along the Enns back to the Hotel Das Urbisgut.
Sightseeing Tour to Bernadette Mountain Inn Bliembauer
walking time: ca. 1 hour
Description: East of Urbisgut via Zauchenseestraße, Rettenbachweg and Hornerweg or Eckwaldsteig to Bliembauer above Altenmarkt.
Habersatters Mountain Inn
walking time: ca. 1 hour
Description: Habersatter via Herzgsell
Moosalm und Reitlehenalm
walking time: ca. 1,5 hours
Description: At 1,280 meters (Schwemmbergmarsch). Both alpine pastures are managed. Walking time approx. 1.5 hours to Altenmarkter Sunnyside.
„Neuhäusl“
walking time: ca. 1 hour
Description: From the Zauchenseebrücke to the Gloner farm, a forest path (Mühlenweg) leads to Neuhäusl.
City Walk in Radstadt
walking time: ca. 1 hour
Description: East of Urbisgut. To the right, past the train station, along the meadow path of the Enns past Tandalier Castle to Radstadt. The way back along the old Roman road with lots of benches to rest.
Hochnössler (Snack Station)
walking time: ca. 1,5 hours
Description: To the Hochnössler snack station
"Schene Hatscha" (Bergtouren teilweise nur für Geübte)

High up to Trinkeralm
hiking time: ca. 2,5 hours
Description: Up to the Trinkeralm (1,800 m) with the most magnificent view from Rossbrand over Bischofsmütze and Dachstein mountains. Extensive hiking opportunities, for example to Laittern See. East of the Urbisgut about 18 km. Park by car to Radstadt in the direction of Forstau, Innviertler Berggasthof, arround 2.5 hours to the destination.

Buttermilchalm to Ostermaißspitze–Korein
hiking time: ca. 1 (up to 3,5) hours
Description: By car to St. Martin am Tennengebirge. A forest path with a moderate incline leads to the Buttermilchalm (1,130 m) in the west. Walking time nearly 1 hour. To the Ostermaißspitze (1,688 m) approx. 3 hours – Korein (1,850 m) 3.5 hours.

Rossbrand
hiking time: ca. 4 hours
Description: North of the Urbisgut via Jausenstation Habersatter through forest the Rossbrand (1,770 m) with Radstädter-Hütte. Return via Bürgerbergalm.

Silberkarhütte – Guttenberghaus
hiking time: ca. 2,5 (up to 6) hours
Description: By car to Weissenbach (Loden Walker). Now follow the road branching off to the right to the Silberkarklamm gorge and on to the Silberkarhütte (1,250 m); easy trail. Continue to the Guttenberghaus (2,145 m) with arround 6 hours walking time. Initially a good path, which later turns into a trail (be careful in fog!).

Königslehen Tour
hiking time: ca. 3,5 hours
Description: East of the Urbisgut over the Glonerbrücke to the Hochnössler snack station, via Königslehen through meadows and forests to Radstadt, the old town in the mountains. Return via Römerweg to Altenmarkt.

Grandenbachfall – Ahornsee
hiking time: ca. 45 min. (up to 3) hours
Description: By car to Weissenbach, turn right at the chapel (Kneipp facility). Behind the Kneipp facility is the parking facility. Gradbachhütte – Gradbachfall (45 min.) – Ahornsee (3 hours). No refreshment stops on this tour!

Strimskogel
hiking time: leichte Tagestour
Description: By car or bus to Zauchensee. From the Zauchensee hunting lodge up to the Strimskogel (2,139 m). Return via Hahkopf, Schlaningsattel, Tauernkarleitenalm, Gasselrain, Oberzauchenseealm to Zauchensee.

Seekarspitze – Grünwaldsee
hiking time: ca. 2 (up to 4,5) hours
Description: By car to Obertauern (1,739 m). From the top of the pass to the Seekarhaus (30 minutes); Seekarspitze (2 hours); Grünwaldsee (3 hours); Seekarhaus (4 hours); Obertauern 4.5 hours. On the descent to the Grünwaldsee, surefootedness is required in places.

„Kaiserschmarrn Tour“
hiking time: ca. 1 hour
Description: Classic hike to the Winterbauer (1,080 m). Southwest of the Urbisgut via Schlatterberg or road on a hill with a good view.

Griessenkareck
hiking time: ca. 1 (up to 4) hours
Description: From Flachau with the Griessenkarbahn to the mountain station 1,740 m - in operation from July to August. Walking time mountain station to Griessenkareck (1 hour); Griessenkareck to Ostrücken to Griessenkarbahn (1 hour). Total 2 hours. Southern variant: Griessenkareck to Saukarkopf to Frauenalm to Jandlalm (mountain station). Total time 4 hours.

Steinfeldspitze
hiking time: ca. 6 hours (for the experienced; a bit more difficult)
Description: By car or bus to Zauchensee. Via Oberzauchensee – Gasslrain – Bärenstaffel – to the Steinfeldspitze. Return via Schwarzkopf – Tagweidegg – Gamskogelhütte to the Oberzauchenseehütte to Zauchensee.

Arche – Tagweideck
hiking time: ca. 1 (up to 4) Stunden (Surefootedness required in some cases)
Description: Arche 2,060 m – Tagweideck 2,135 m – Schwarzkopf 2,260 m – Gamskogel 2,186 m. Starting point: Zauchensee. With the Gamskogelbahn/chairlift to the Gamskogelhütte. The Gamskogelbahn is in operation daily from July to mid-September. Walking times: Gamskogelhütte – Arche 2,060 m 1 hour, Arche – Tagweideck 3/4 hour, Tagweideck – Schwarzkopf 1 hour, Schwarzkopf – Gamskogel 3/4 hour, Gamskogel – Gamskogelhütte 3/4 hour. Total time 4 hours. The more demanding summit is the Schwarzkopf, it requires surefootedness, between it and the Tagweideck you will find a very short wire rope belay. Arche, Tagweideck and Gamskogel are easily accessible.

High-altitude hike
hiking time: ca. 6 – 8 hours
Description: By car or bus to Zauchensee from there to the Gamskogelhütte (possibly with lift) via Wurmkar – Hirschköpfl – Rosskopf – Hinterkogel – Vorderkogel – Lackenkogel – Lackenalm to the Lackenkogel. Descent to Sattelbauer – Winterbauer – Urbisgut.

Gamskarspitze – Plattenspitze
hiking time: ca. 1 (up to 5) hours (Surefootedness required in some cases)
Description: Gamskarlspitze 2,411 m, Plattenspitze 2,294 m.
Starting point: Obertauern 1,739 m car park on the road to the Seekarhaus.
Walking times: car park – Theodor Körner Haus 25 min, Theodor Körner Haus – Edelweissalm 20 min., Edelweissalm – mountain station 45 min, mountain station – Plattenscharte 30 min. Gamskarlspitze – Scharte – Plattenspitze (2294m) 30 min. Plattenspitze – Obertauern via Seekarhaus 2 hours. Total time: 5 hours. Requirements: Marked hiking trails and climbs, surefootedness required in some cases.

Südwiener hut
hiking time: ca. 3 hours
Description: By bus to the Fall of Grace/Bridge of Mercy. Vordergnadenalm – Gnadenalm – Hintergnadenalm – Hödlhütte – Südwienerhütte (1,802 m).

Mitterfager – Hinterfager
hiking times: ca. 1,25 (up to 2,5) hours
Description: Mitterfager (1,950 m), Hinterfager (1,971 m). By car via Radstadt to the Seitenalm. At the apex of the mountain road, turn off to the Fageralmen, 8 km to the Trinkeralm.
Starting point: Trinkeralm (1,800 m)
Walking times: Trinkeralm – Mitterfager (1,940 m) – Hinterfager (1,971 m) 1 1/4 hours. Round trip 2 1/2 hours. Worth seeing: Alpine rose blossom at the beginning of July.

Tappenkar Mountain Lake
hiking time: ca. 4 hours
Description: From the Jägersee to the Tappenkar Lake. It is possible to continue to the Franz-Fischer-Hütte. Tappenkarsee – Weissgrubenscharte – Franz-Fischer-Hütte (3.5 hours).

Predigstuhl
hiking time: ca. 1,5 hours
Description: Access via Radstadt on the road to Obertauern to the end of the village, then 2.7 km westwards towards Forstau, Seitenalm.
Walking times: Seitenalm – Predigstuhl 1 hour, Predigstuhl (1,305 m) – Seitenalm 1/2 hour, easy meadow and forest path as well as forest road.

Duisitz See
hiking time: ca. 2 hours
Description: Fantastic mountain lake. The mountain world is reflected in the lake - for connoisseurs! By car to Schladming, Rohrmoos.
Starting point: Eschachalm im Obertal (parking available).

Felseralm – Wildsee – Südwiener Hütte
hiking time: ca. 1 (up to 2) hours
Description: From the Felseralm via Wildsee to the Südwiener hut.
Starting point: Felseralm 1,660 m (parking available). From the pass road to Obertauern, a 1.5 km long cul-de-sac branches off to the right at km 40.9 (Kleines Haus) to the Felseralm
Walking times: Felseralm – Wildsee 1 hour, Wildsee – Südwienerhütte 2 hours.

Hofpürgel Hütte
hiking time: ca. 2,5 hours
Description: To the Hofpürgel Hut (1,705 m). By car to Filzmoos. On foot about 2.5 hours via Marcheggsattel.

Hirschwandsteig – Gollinghütte
Walking time: approx. 4.5 hours
Starting point: Gasthaus Riesachfälle im Untertal (1,080 m), parking available. Accessible via Schladming.
Walking times: Car park – Gollinghütte (1,641 m) a good 2 hours. Return 1 1/2 hours. Total time: 3 1/2 hours. Hiking trails and alpine roses in one of the most beautiful valley heads in Austria.

Lake Tour
Walking time: approx. 1.5 (3) hours
Description: By car to Schladming – Ruperting (turn right), to Seewigtal Stüberl (toll road). Walking time: Styrian Bodenss 20 minutes, Hüttensee 1.5 hours and Obersee approx. 3 hours.

Unterhofalm – Almsee – Hofpürgelhütte
Walking time: approx. 1.25 (up to 3.5) hours
Starting point: Unterhofalm 1,295 m. Access from Filzmoos in the direction of Hofalmen/toll road.
Walking times: Unterhofalm – Almsee 5 minutes, Almsee – Linzer Weg 1 1/4 hour; Linzer Weg – Hofpürgelhütte 1 1/4 hour, Hofpürgelhütte – Unterhofalm 3/4 hour. Total time: 3 1/2 hours. Hiking trails that only require some surefootedness in short places.

Blauer See / Ennskraxn
Walking time: approx. 2.5 (4) hours (Ennskraxn only for experienced hikers!)
Description: By car to Kleinarl. Starting from the church, the path branches off to the left after about 50 metres, crosses the stream and climbs up the mountain in moderately steep serpentines, past a small wooden house you reach the snack station (farm is the home of the world-famous ski racer Annemarie Moser-Pröll), further Steinkaralm 2 1/2 hours 1,700 m, Blauer See 3 hours / Ennskraxn approx. 4 hours (2,410 m).

Tauernkarsee – Tauernkarhütte
Walking time: approx. 1 (4) hours
Starting point: Gnadenbrücke. By car to Radstadt – Untertauern. Between Untertauern and Obertauern lies the Gnadenbrücke.
Walking times: Gnadenbrücke – Hauskoppenalm 3/4 hour. Hauskoppenalm – Tauernkarsee 1/2 hour. Tauernkarsee – Tauernkarhütte (1,671 m) 1/4 hour. Breitlehenalm 3/4 hour. Breitlehenalm – Gnadenbrücke 1 1/2 hours. Total walking time: 3 1/2 – 4 hours.

Faulkogel hut
Walking time: approx. 4 – 5 hours (sometimes very difficult)
Description: To the Faulkogelhütte (2,654 m). From Flachauwinkl through the Marbachtal – Vordere Marbachalm – Hintere Marbachalm to the Faulkogel.

Hochkönig
Walking time: approx. 6.5 hours (only for experienced hikers, endurance required)
Starting point: Arthurhaus Mühlbach am Hochkönig. Arthurhaus – Mitterfeldalm 1/2 hour, Mitterfeldalm – Schrammbachscharte – Hochkönig. The Martas Hut is located on the Hochkönig / Overnight stay possible / Managed
Walking time: 6 1/2 hours to the Hochkönig (2,941 m). Crossing of snowfields / partly very rocky. Sunglasses wouldn't be bad.

Ignaz-Mattis Hütte/Rotmannlspitze
Walking time: approx. 2 (up to 5) hours
Description: By car to Pichl. At Pichl, turn right over the railway crossing – Preineggtal to the Ursprungalm (Heidialm) car park. On foot past the Preuneggsattel – Oberer Giglachsee – Unterer Giglachsee to the Ignaz-Mattis-Hütte (1,986 m) 2 hours. Further march to the Rotmannlspitze possible. (2,453 m / difficult / 5 hours).

Rötelstein
Walking time: approx. 4.5 hours
Description: From Filzmoos via the Oberberg to the Rettensteinhütte (Rettenstein lift) – Ahorneggalm to the Rötelstein (2,247 m). Partly very rocky. Continuation to the Bacherlalm possible.

Gamsspitzl/Zehnerkarspitze
Walking time: approx. 5 hours (very challenging; only for experienced hikers)
Description: Very demanding only for experienced hikers, step sure, a head for heights required Gamsspitzl 2,345 m / Zehnerkarspitze 2,381 m / and Gamsleitnspitze 2,357 m
Starting point: Obertauern. Parking is available at the top of the Obertauern pass.
Walking times: Obertauern mountain station Zehnerkarbahn 1 3/4 hours. Mountain station – Gamsspitzel 1/2 hour. Gamsspitzl – Zehnerkarscharte – Zehnerkarspitze 3/4 hour. Zehnerkarspitze – Zehnerkarscharte – Obertauern 1 1/2 hours. On the Gamsspitzl on the last 30 meters of altitude very helpful wire rope. Total walking time approx. 5 hours.
